Accessibility Comments

The app is designed with accessibility in mind, though there are a few areas where VoiceOver users may encounter challenges:

  1. Copying Codes:
    When double-tapping on a code, it is automatically copied to your clipboard. However, VoiceOver does not announce this action. The confirmation is visually displayed onscreen, but VoiceOver will only relay this information if you swipe left.
  2. Code Format:
    Codes are presented in the following format: Name, <seconds>, <first 3 digits>, <last 3 digits>.
  • The first value represents the seconds remaining until the code expires.
  • The second value is the first three digits of the code.
  • The third value is the last three digits of the code.
  • Example: For a code displayed as test, 10, 345, 678, “10” indicates 10 seconds remaining before the code expires, “345” is the first part of the code, and “678” is the last part. The full code copied to your clipboard would be 345678.
  1. Accessing Additional Options:
    To access more options for a code, perform a double-tap and hold. Unfortunately, VoiceOver does not read the available options within this context menu and will only announce “Dismiss Context Menu” when swiping.
  • Workaround:
    Enable Screen Recognition, swipe left to select the desired option (the options are clearly labeled), and then double-tap to activate it. Once done, you may disable Screen Recognition and continue using the app as usual.

Overall Accessibility:
The app is generally very accessible. All buttons are labeled, and the interface is clean and easy to navigate.

Other Comments

For users transitioning from another authenticator to Bitwarden, the app supports importing authorization codes from several popular authenticators, including Google Authenticator and LastPass. Please note that not all authenticators are supported at this time. Information regarding the potential support for additional authenticators in the future is currently unavailable.
