AppleVis announced that it would be closing down on July 27th, 2024. The AppleVis team stated that the site would stay in read only mode until August 31, 2024, and would then shut down.
On August 28th, 2024 AppleVis announced that they would be acquired by Be My Eyes, and that the site would continue, and that the site would re-open on September 9th. This means that AppleVis, and all of its wonderful resources will continue to exist after the shutdown date.
It is unclear at this point as to how the website will change after it comes back, but I think it is very exciting that this resource will continue to exist for everyone to take advantage of. There has been a lot of content posted at AppleVis, and I think it is important that it remains online.
